Hey, I’m Alicia 👋 A proudly seasoned (read: slightly vintage) software engineering leader with two decades in tech and zero plans to slow down.
My career kicked off in IT support and web dev back in South Africa, and since then I’ve climbed the ladder, dodged a few curveballs, and found my sweet spot leading high-performing teams. I’ve built, broken, and rebuilt a lot of things—from payment integrations to platform performance systems—and loved (almost) every minute of it.
I’ve built up my career at impressive companies like Vista Entertainment Solutions and Pushpay. These days, I’m Director of Engineering at Auror, where I look after some of our most foundational products: Platform, Core, Actionable Insights, and Tech Support. Basically, if it’s under the hood and quietly powering the good stuff—we’re on it.
I hold a few Microsoft certs and a PSM I because, well, sometimes you’ve got to prove to the world that you know your stuff on paper too. But let’s be real: nothing beats leading smart humans, solving real problems, and delivering value without drowning in process.
I also wrangle meetups as the organiser of the Auckland Product and Software Leadership group—come for the networking, stay for the excellent chats and (occasional) snacks.
As a woman in tech, I’m acutely aware of the path I’ve had to carve—and I try to make that path just a little smoother for those coming after me. Whether it’s mentoring, speaking up, or simply being visible, I’m here for building inclusive teams and creating spaces where everyone can thrive.
Outside of work?
You’ll find me riding motorcycles for the freedom and the thrill of pushing outside my comfort zones, binge-watching far too many medical and crime dramas, or getting completely lost in just one more turn of Civilization VI.
I’m also guilty of asking too many questions and constantly plotting how to make things just a little more efficient.
Let’s connect if you’re into thoughtful leadership, building great teams, or just keen to swap war stories from the tech trenches.
